Salary / Hourly Rate: Up to £50per hour
Our client a Nuclear MoD establishment based in Reading, Berkshire is looking to recruit a SC Cleared Project Assurance Manager on a contract basis paying circa £70per hour

Job Purpose:
To ensure successful Assurance implementation within project delivery in accordance with company management system requirements

Key Responsibilities:
* To be responsible for the production of all Assurance documentation required to meet project delivery
* Determine the project's Assurance documentation strategies.
* Maintain adequate, SQEP Assurance resource to meet the strategies throughout the project life cycle.
* Produce the Assurance Control Plan and related strategy documentation.
* Manage the production of the staged safety case and environmental reports.
* Manage the integration of the Assurance work with the development of the overall project.
* Manage the approval of the safety case through the checking, review and verification processes.
* Ensure that project teams are aware of and are working within the safety case requirements and environmental constraints.
* Review testing and commissioning documentation.
* Identify, manage and resolve project security issues.
* Provide cost information to the Project Manager on Assurance resource.

Qualifications:
Engineering or science degree or equivalent preferably with chartered status.

Knowledge:
* A good understanding of Assurance related legislation, standards and best practice.
* A good understanding of engineering project processes and links to Assurance requirements.
* A good understating of modern standards safety cases (hazard identification, fault analysis etc) and the application of ALARP / optioneering methodologies.
* A good understanding of environmentally related requirements applicable to project implementation (DREEM, EIA, Planning, BPEO etc).
* Familiarity with working within an Assurance management system.

Experience:
* Considerable experience of the supervision/management of a technical team in a nuclear/high hazard environment.
* Relevant, recent experience in a senior Assurance post within a project is desirable.
* Practical experience of implementing Assurance requirements and activities within a project or company environment, preferably in the nuclear industry.
